The current Michigan VINE brochure says unanswered telephone notices may repeat until acknowledged or for up to 24 hours. An older brochure described retries for up to 72 hours. The current statement should control. Neither number describes how long Midland County releases remain in an online list.

Michigan VINE and Victim Notices

Michigan maintains two related but distinct notification layers. General custody or state-prison release alerts can be registered through VINELink. Midland County VINELink Limits

VINELink is not a permanent Midland County release archive. A person may be absent because a local feed is unavailable, the name or identifier differs, the record changed, or the event falls outside the tool’s current scope. An unanswered search is not proof that no one was detained or released. A Midland County Jail departure must be confirmed through the jail or its records when exactness matters.

The service also does not cover every custodian. Federal Bureau of Prisons records belong in the BOP locator.
